Zurich critical illness policy features

Core benefit Receive your critical illness cover amount if you’re diagnosed with one of the serious illnesses or conditions listed in your policy. After this, your policy ends.
Additional benefit Receive a proportion of your critical illness cover amount if you’re diagnosed with one of the less serious illnesses or conditions listed in your policy. Your policy won’t end after claiming the additional benefit.
Child benefit Receive a proportion of your critical illness cover amount if your child is diagnosed with one of the children’s illnesses or conditions listed in your policy. Your policy won’t end after claiming the child benefit.
Total permanent disability benefit Claim your full critical illness cover amount if you’re diagnosed by a doctor as having become permanently disabled during your policy term.
Waiver of premium Don’t pay your monthly premiums if you’re off work for medical reasons. A minimum time off work usually applies.

Zurich critical illness extra policy benefits

Zurich critical illness policies also come with extra benefits, outlined below. These features are ‘non-contractual’, which means they’re not related to the contractual conditions of your own policy, and are usually provided by a third party. Everyone is eligible for them – though they’re usually only made available if you buy your Zurich policy through an adviser.

Zurich support services 24/7 access to an independent team of counsellors, advisers and legal experts for you and your family. This includes support for carers, life coaching, debt and money management, legal information, and up to five counselling sessions.

An adviser will be able to help you work out which policy and insurer is best for you.
Are critical illness plans worth it?
